This gite is called Le Papillon (The Butterfly) and it is an incredibly well-appointed vacation house, and reasonably priced in a beautiful, yet secluded area of Provence.  The amenities include a pool, and scenic countryside and villages.

Provencal Bedroom

This is a look inside a Provencal bedroom.  The bed is a lovely ironworks piece in the Provencal style (there are ferroniers or iron workers all through Provence).  Note the ever present flowers and the ladder being whimsically used as a bookshelf.

The traditional Provencal fireplace is different from North American ones.  It is not really closed in.  The fire is a lot more personal and open.  The masonry walls of the fireplace extend to hold a huge big wooden beam as the mantle.  This is a relatively small fireplace.  Usually they are larger.
